Hunger Awareness WeekHunger Awareness WeekThis weekend we had CUPE Local 82 Windsor Civic Employees and their new Community Awareness Committee volunteer for the Loblaw Food Drive (Zehrs Lauzon Parkway) and kick off to Hunger Awareness Week. They raised over $1,240 at the register for the Windsor Essex Food Bank Association and 522 pounds of food for the UHC. THANK YOU34

Students from Fujisawa JapanStudents from Fujisawa JapanStudents visiting from Fujisawa Japan, our sister city, came to the Unemployed Help Centre for a tour of our Centre. The students come to Windsor for 2 weeks to study English and to learn about the Canadian culture. They received some hands on experience in making food boxes in our Food Bank.10

CAW Local 444 & CAW Local 200 Challenge local businessesCAW Local 444 & CAW Local 200 Challenge local businessesDino Chiodo, President, of CAW Local 444 and Chris Taylor, President of CAW Local 200 developed a new strategy to resolve a community problem that can be solved by challenging local businesses, individuals and groups to participate in a resolve to a food security issue. The Community stepped up to the Local 200/444 challenge for the Food Banks and $57,360.00 was raised. Once again unions helping our community and those in need. Way to go16
